Kolkata: A 64-year-old man in West Bengal’s Dhupguri area passed away hours after taking a shot of COVID-19 vaccine.
Krishna Dutta, a businessman, was brought to a local hospital after complaining of breathlessness in the night. He was declared dead after a while.
Dutta, who had comorbidities, was administered Covishield of the Serum Institute of India. His family members have lodged a complaint alleging the death to be unnatural.
This is the first adverse event reported in the state where around 18.43 lakh people have been vaccinated.
