Bhubaneswar: The shadow of COVID-19 pandemic has lengthened to cover the New Year-eve celebration also in the city.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has denied to give permission for any kind of group celebration in hotels, clubs and pubs on Zero Night due to the pandemic. The New Year eve celebration will not be allowed in the city due to the restrictions imposed for the month of December, said BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary.
Every year, these places used to compete among themselves to organise parties and programmes inviting entertainers from outside for the enjoyment of the guests.
The BMC restrictions have come as a setback to not only for the revellers but also these joints which are already reeling under loss for almost the entire year.
