Keonjhar: The district witnessed a sharp rise in the local contact cases of COVID-19 with 52 out of 56 new cases reported in the last 24 hours are local contacts.
Among 52 local contact cases, 29 are from Anandpur Municipality and 16 from Hatadihi block, 2 from Anandpur block and one each from Joda Municipality, Keonjhar Municipality, and Banspal, Keonjhar and Jhumpura blocks.
The district has reported 191 local contact cases of the disease in the last five days since August 1.
With 3 deaths and 689 recoveries, Keonjhar has 299 active cases at present.
