Kolkata: When the nation is facing a tough time due to COVID-19, many bigwigs have stepped forward to lend a helping hand to the needy and former Team India Captain Sourav Ganguly is one among them.
According to an IANS report, Sourav Ganguly has donated rice worth Rs 50 lakh to the needy who have been accommodated in government schools for safety reasons amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The cricketer also requested people to stay indoors to avoid getting affected by the deadly virus.
Urging people to be sensible, Ganguly uploaded a 45-second video on his Twitter handle.

Among others, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and its president Avishek Dalmiya on Wednesday donated a sum of Rs 25 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively towards the West Bengal governments’ Emergency Relief Fund.
Till date, nine positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in West Bengal with a person succumbing to the disease.
