Angul: With the COVID-19 positive cases going up to 336, the district administration has imposed a two-day shutdown on August 1 and 2.
In an official order, district collector Manoj Kumar Mohanty said all the weekly markets and commercial establishments will remain closed on the two days and open on Monday from 7 am to 2 pm until any further notice.
The shops and business centres have to strictly follow the social distancing norm during the opening period failing which those will be sealed.
All non-essential activities will be prohibited during this time while emergency services like hospitals, medicine stores and fire brigade will be allowed. Besides, petrol pumps and construction work will continue to function with prior permission.
The order further said basic necessities like food and grocery delivery can be delivered at doorstep on order. The collector has requested the people to cooperate with the shutdown and not panic.
The district reported 21 COVID-19 positive cases on the day.
