Bhubaneswar: A day after Cuttack administration closed three state government offices to the public due to COVID-19, more than 10 offices in Bhubaneswar have detected infection of the virus among their staff.
As many as 266 employees of more than 10 government offices have tested positive for COVID-19 in Bhubaneswar so far, according to sources.
Lok Seva Bhawan, Kharavel Bhawan and Special Intelligence Office were reported to have 35 positive cases while there were 33 cases in Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), 23 in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) offices, 15 in Odisha Hydro Power Corporation, 15 in Bhubaneswar Sub Registrar and Sub-Collector offices, 6 in Odisha State Housing Board and 4 in Legislative Assembly.
Similarly, 70 personnel of Commissionerate Police and 25 staff of SBI Main Branch have been infected with the virus, the sources said.
Besides government offices, COVID-19 has also been detected in the staff of private offices. Around 35 employees of Swosti Premium Hotel, 28 of Tech Mahindra, 15 of Aditya Birla Fashion and 10 of Hotel Crown have been infected, the sources said.
