BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary has attributed the rise in new cases to unrestricted domestic travel.
The COVID-19 resurgence in the city began with the detection of clusters in educational institutions, including XIMB. Students of some private schools have also been infected.
To contain the spread of the virus and ensure strict implementation of COVID-19 protocols, BMC’s flying squads are conducting surprise checks in all private/public sector offices and educational institutions.
