Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday assigned 19 OAS officers to assist the administration in management of COVID-19 pandemic in five districts.
Among the 17 OAS officers, 5 will extend their assistance in Nuapada districts, 4 in Sundargarh, 3 each in Balangir and Bargarh and 2 in Sambalpur district.
The government took the decision keeping alarming rise in COVID-19 positive cases on daily basis in these districts.
During the second wave of the pandemic, these wester Odisha districts reported very high number of positive cases compared to the last year. This has been assigned to their common border with Chhattisgarh which has reported very high number of COVID-19 cases this year.
