Bhubaneswar: Even as recoveries from COVID-19 continued to outnumber positive cases in the capital city, the total number of infected persons crossed 27,000 on Sunday.
The number of positive cases went up to 27,228 after 233 persons tested positive, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
Of the total positive cases on the day, 51 were detected in quarantine centres while 182 were local contacts.
The number of recovered cases reached 24,143 as 313 more patients recuperated from the disease on the day. Total 137 patients have succumbed to the diseases. At present, there are 2,927 active cases.
