Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 positive cases in Bhubaneswar went up to 15,845 on Saturday with 480 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 182 were from quarantine centres and 298 were local contacts.
While 19 cases were from Saheed Nagar, 12 were from Patia, and 7 cases each from Baramunda Housing Board and BJB Nagar areas.
Besides, 8 staffers of a Central government hospital and 2 from the Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) campus also tested positive.
On the other hand, the city also reported 642 recoveries.
With 60 deaths and 10,826 recoveries, Bhubaneswar has 4946 active cases at present.
Notably, the capital city in the last 11 days since September 1 has reported 5113 positive cases.
Bhubaneswar accounts for 62% of 25,440 positive cases in Khurda district.
