Rourkela: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha’s Sundargarh district touched 2453 with an overnight addition of 91 new cases.
Among them, 79 cases have been reported from Rourkela and 20 among them are from Special Jail. With this, the COVID-19 positive cases in this jail have gone up to 43.

On June 7, six under-trial prisoners of the jail had tested positive for COVID-19. Seventeen more prisoners were found infected on August 7.

The district also reported one more death in the last 24 hours.
With 19 deaths and 1459 recoveries, Sundargarh now has 971 active cases.
