Bhubaneswar: The number of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha rose to 2,88,646 on Friday with the overnight addition of 1,547 cases.
Among the new cases, 891 are in quarantine and 656 are local contacts.
Despite reporting the highest tally among the districts, new cases in Khurda came down below the 200 mark (159).
Among the remaining 29 districts, Cuttack reported 98 cases, followed by Angul (95), Jagatsinghpur (89), Mayurbhanj (88), Balasore (79), Balangir (79), Keonjhar (71), Jajpur (70), Kendrapada (61), Nuapada (59), Puri (59), Sundargarh (58), Bhadrak (43), Dhenkanal (40), Kalahandi (37), Jharsuguda (37), Koraput (37), Bargarh (35), Nayagarh (34), Nabarangpur (30), Ganjam (24), Kandhamal (24), Sambalpur (23), Sonepur (22), Deogarh (17), Malkangiri (17), Boudh (12), Rayagada (9) and Gajapati (8).
Besides, the state pool has 33 cases
At present, Odisha has 15,247 active cases and 2,72,038 recoveries.
