Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the Odisha capital touched 27,909 on Wednesday with an overnight addition of 239 new cases.
Among them, 63 are quarantine while 176 are local contacts.
While the highest of 10 cases have been reported from Patia, 9 are from Chandrasekharpur, 7 each from Satya Nagar and Unit-6, 6 from Laxmisgar and Old Town, 5 each from Baramunda and Patrapada, 4 each from Khandagiri, Rasulgarh, Jagamara, Mancheswar, Saheed Nagar, Nayapalli, Niladri Vihar, Unit-8, Soubhagya Nagar, Dumduma, Jayadev Vihar and Bomikhal and 3 each from Pokhariput, Badagada, Ghatikia, Shastri Nagar, Unit-4 and Sundarpada.
On the other hand, 302 more patients have recovered and are being discharged from the hospital, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation informed.
With 144 deaths and 25,060 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 2684 active cases.
The city accounts for 60 per cent and 71 per cent of 46,738 confirmed cases and 203 deaths in Khurda district, respectively.
