COVID-19 Tests Crossed 1 Lakh In Two Days, Says Odisha Govt

Bhubaneswar: In yet another record, more than 1 lakh tests of COVID-19 were conducted in the state in the last 2 days.

The state is close to cross the significant milestone of one million total tests, the government said in a statement, adding that the positivity rate has come down from 9.2% a month back to 5.5% on August 16.

Ganjam district leads the tests with 14,953 tests in two days, which is more than many states in the country. The positivity rate has come down to 3.6% in the district.

The fatality rate in the state continues to be among the lowest in the country at around 0.58%. It indicates the strength of the dedicated COVID care system of hospitals and COVID care centres and homes across the State, the statement said.
