Bhubaneswar: With seven staff of the main branch of State Bank of India (SBI) testing positive for COVID-19, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday sealed the office building.
As informed by BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, the office building of SBI Main Branch at Unit I will be sealed for 48 hours, beginning today.
The entire building will be sanitized, he said, and added that contact tracing of the seven bank staff has begun while the remaining staff who had come in contact with them will undergo the COVID-19 test.
An RT-PCR camp shall be conducted for all staff of the Main Branch on April 6 in which all staff, housekeeping & security personnel shall be tested.
As per protocol, no one shall be allowed to move into or outside the premises of the SBI Main Branch during the period of sealing. Only authorized personnel of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation will be allowed to move in for sanitization work.
The detected positive cases have been directed to remain in isolation at their respective residence and if any positive case needs medical attention, the bank authorities will have to intimate BMC immediately, a release of the BMC stated.
