Bhubaneswar: The rate of COVID-19 transmission in Bhubaneswar has shown a declining trend since past few weeks, said Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary on Tuesday.
He said that the Odisha capital is experiencing a plateau after having reached the peak. “The positive cases in the city have come down to 300 from 400-500,” he pointed out.
According to the analysis of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the daily positivity rate in the city will further decline.
“According to the study by the experts, the rate of COVID-19 transmission declines after reaching the peak and then attains the plateau. On the basis of their study, the rate of transmission of the virus in Bhubaneswar will come down further,” he added.
