Bhubaneswar: The plasma collection programme was conducted at the AIIMS, Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. A female doctor from the AIIMS was the first to donate. It has been reported that a Plasma Bank may be set up at the AIIMS soon. About 100 healthy patients were reportedly contacted by the institute who have earlier recovered from the infection here.
In the next few days, 3-4 people have agreed to donate plasma, it was learnt. About 100 COVID-19 patients are currently being treated at the AIIMS. Plasma banks have been set up at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, RGH in Rourkela, MKCG in Berhampur and VIMSAR in Burla so far.
On the other hand, 5,938 RT-PCR tests were performed in July, while 196 were tested on the Rapid Antigen Kit. The screening of 4,374 persons at COVID clinic at AIIMS have also been conducted. Among them, 257 have been admitted here. About 10,416 people have received services through telemedicine and apps.
