COVID-19: Twitterati Goes Berserk After Modi Announces Lockdown 4.0

Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Tuesday about #Lockdown4 along with the announcement of a financial package worth Rs. 20 lakh crore.

Apart from the important information about the next step of the lockdown, what caught the attention of netizens is the long introduction in the Prime Minister’s speech. Twitter was flooded with memes becoming a new source of excitement and fun for Indians. Lockdown 4.0 became the talk of the town. Some users slammed Modi for the step while some made hysterical memes out of it.
Let’s take a look at Twitter’s hilarious take on the speech and on Lockdown 4.0.

Bollywood actors and scenes from their movies are the favourites of meme makers for taking jabs on political decisions and situations.

One user trolled Modi’s speech by passively suggesting to add a ‘Skip ad’ button to jump through most of the intro.

One memer used the iconic television character of Jetha Lal from Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta Chashma to show how you feel when you win the bet for lockdown extension.

COVID-19 has made social distancing and home isolation the new normal. People are sitting in their homes and creatively taking digs or giving strong opinions on government policies regarding containment of coronavirus .
