New Delhi: An overnight addition of 48,661 positive cases took India’s COVID-19 tally past the 13.5 lakh mark to 13,85,522 on Sunday.
A total of 705 people succumbed to the virus infection in the last 24 hours that took the country’s death toll to 32,063, the Union Health Ministry informed.
On a positive note, cumulative recovered cases (8,85,576) have surpassed active cases by 4,17,654.
Also, India’s recovery rate has improved to 63.92 per cent. The fatality rate of cases falls to 2.31 per cent and is observed falling progressively, according to a PIB release.
The number of COVID-19 sample testing labs has increased to 1307 including 402 private labs. There are 665 RT-PCR based testing labs, including 260 private labs.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 1,62,91,331 COVID-19 samples have been tested so far, including 4,42,263 on Saturday.
