Sambalpur: The COVID-19 positive cases in western Odisha district Sambalpur went up to 1409 on Saturday with 81 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.
Among the 81 cases, 24 are local contacts while three are COVID warriors.
While Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) has the highest 49 cases, the remaining 32 cases are from six blocks — Rengali (12), Jujumara (9), Maneswar (5), Kuchinda (3), Jamankira (2) and Naktideul (1).
With 7 deaths and 812 recoveries, Sambalpur district now has 590 active cases.
