COVID-19 Update: National Capital Delhi Under Lockdown Till March 31

New Delhi: It is final. The National capital, Delhi has been placed under lockdown till March 31 to battle the highly contagious coronavirus. The Delhi Police have imposed prohibitory orders across the city, banning the gathering for more than four people.

What does it mean?

  • Delhi has sealed its borders and shut its shops, allowing only those selling essential items to remain open.
  • The airport will be shut
  • There will be no public transport.
  • The Delhi Metro already announced that it will stop services till March 31.

“We have decided to impose a lockdown in Delhi from 6 am tomorrow (March 23) to March 31,” said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a press conference.

All dairies, grocery shops, chemists and petrol pumps will remain open during the period. Essential services including medical services are exempted keeping in view the smooth supply chain of goods.
