Sambalpur: Taking note of the rising cases of COVID-19 in Sambalpur city, the district administration clamped prohibitory orders under section 144 in 10 areas under the jurisdiction of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation (SMC) from Wednesday. The orders will be effective for five days till August 16 to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The areas where the prohibitory orders have been clamped are Hatli Chhak and Hirakud Colony in Bada Bazar, Shraddhakar Supakar Lane in Jhaduapada; Haragouri Pada, Jagannath Mandir Colony and Housing Board Colony in Panchagochhia; Siba Nagar in Dhanupalli, Explosive Colony in Motijharan and Nuapada and Kansaripada in Bareipalli.
The administration has asked people to stay 100 metres away from the prohibited areas.
