Bhubaneswar: The health workers, who have been registered for the COVID-19 vaccination in Odisha on Saturday, will receive the message on their mobile phones on Thursday.
Informing this to media persons here, Director, Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said the message will be sent to the health workers to inform location and timing for the vaccination. Besides, those in charge of vaccination will receive the message. The vaccinators will be informed about the session sites along with a list of the health workers who will be vaccinated.
On the transportation of the vaccines to the session sites, Panigrahi said in order to maintain the required temperature for the vaccines, the Health Department has received 41 deep freezers which will be sent to all 30 districts.
Stating that the vaccines have reached all the districts and the cold chain points, he said priority has been given to the zero wastage of the vaccines.
Talking about the effects of the vaccines, Panigrahi said the antibody of a person develops 42 days after the first dose and 14 days after the second dose. “But, if a person is afflicted with COVID-19 after the first dose, he/she will not be given the second dose,” he pointed out.
