Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Tuesday revised the target of each district to achieve 2 lakh COVID-19 vaccinations daily from April 1.
In a letter to district collectors, municipal commissioners and CDMOs, additional chief secretary, Health and Family Welfare department PK Mohapatra said vaccination of people of 45 years and above will commence from April 1 with the revised target for the districts. Though April 1 and 2 are government holidays, the vaccination programme will continue on those days, he added.
He directed all districts to achieve the daily target through constant monitoring and increasing the vaccination centres. Following is the daily target for the districts:
Mohapatra has also identified the sections of population who have the highest risk of being potential super spreaders. They are street vendors, fish and meat sellers, auto and bus drivers, school and college teachers, salon and barber shop employees, security guards, restaurant staff, priests of temples, churches and mosques.
The officials have been asked to prepare a list of such people and ensure their vaccination on a time-bound manner.
