In addition, private hospitals will recover Rs 150 per person per dose as cost of vaccine. Hence, the total ceiling amount recoverable by private hospitals is Rs 250 per person per dose,” The Indian Express quoted Dr Pradeep Vyas as saying.
The charges were conveyed at a virtual meeting on Co-WIN 2.0, chaired by CEO National Health Authority and Union Health Secretary.
Such an arrangement will remain effective till further orders, informed Vandana Gurnani Additional Secretary and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Concerned authorities of all states and union territories have been advised to inform COVID-empaneled private sector hospitals about the charges.
The vaccine, however, will be administered free of cost at all government hospitals.
Come March 1, senior citizens and those over 45 years of age with comorbidities will be eligible for vaccination.
