New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to chair an all-party meeting to discuss the COVID-19 situation in the country on December 4.
According to sources, besides steps being taken to control the pandemic, the meeting will also discuss the rollout process of the vaccine.
The Prime Minister is expected to meet floor leaders of different parties through video-conferencing. His senior Cabinet colleagues Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Dr Harsh Vardhan will also be present.
In his meeting with a group of Chief Ministers a week ago, the Prime Minister had stressed on the need to collectively curb the transmission of the deadly virus and bring the positivity rate to below 5%.
The Prime Minister had also asked the states to set up task forces or steering committees at district and block levels to prepare for the vaccine programme.
Modi recently met various teams involved in developing and manufacturing COVID-19 vaccine.
