Mumbai: Team India captain Virat Kohli and his actress wife Anushka Sharma have contributed Rs 5 lakh each for the welfare of police personnel who are battling the Covid-19 pandemic from the frontline.
“Thank you, @imVkohli and @AnushkaSharma for contributing Rs. 5 lacs each towards the welfare of Mumbai Police personnel. Your contribution will safeguard those at the frontline in the fight against coronavirus, Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh tweeted from his official handle.
Virat and Anushka had earlier donated undisclosed sums of money to the PM CARES fund and Maharashtra Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support India’s massive fight against the global pandemic.
