Berhampur: A youth from Landei Sahi in Ganjam district, Ramesh Sahu, has been fighting for his life for a month at a hospital in Kolkata after being infected with the coronavirus. His wife appealed for help as the treatment is expensive.
Ramesh Sahu has already spent Rs 50 lakh for ECMO treatment in the private medical facility in Kolkata. The doctors said Ramesh will need another Rs 50 lakh for further treatment.
His wife Smitha, in the meanwhile, has appealed to people to contribute generously to meet the huge expenses of COVID-19 treatment. She has even shared her bank details in the media for people to donate.
Ramesh contracted the disease from his ailing father who has died of the deadly virus. Ramesh, who was working in a private firm in Mumbai, returned home in May for his ailing father’s treatment. However, in the process, he also contracted the disease and is now on ECMO life support.
