Bhubaneswar: Odisha, which received 1.5 lakh doses of Covaxin as the first consignment of the state’s own procurement for vaccination of 18-44 year age group, will conduct a trial, symbolic beginning of the drive with a few beneficiaries on Saturday.
The inoculation drive remains suspended on Saturdays and Sundays in view of the weekend shutdown in the urban areas of the state.
These doses will be used in the areas under Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) limits for which slots will be opened on COWIN for sessions to be held from May 3.
A total of 1.93 crore people in the 18-44 age group will get the shots for free as announced by the government.
