Bhubaneswar: The weddings will get leaner in Odisha from Monday with the state government restricting participation to 50.
There will be no marriage procession and wearing of masks, maintaining social distancing and provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash or sanitiser will be mandatory.
Only 20 persons will be allowed for funeral related gatherings.
Similarly, all educational institutions and hostels in the state will remain closed until further orders and classes will be conducted in online mode, wherever feasible.
The government has also suspended all interstate bus services while all intra-state buses shall run with seating capacity only. All passengers will have to mandatorily wear masks inside the bus and persons with apparent flu symptoms will not be allowed to board vehicles.
These announcements were made on April 16 to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
Sports hostels under the Sports And Youth Services Department will also be shut till further orders.
