Bhubaneswar: The active COVID cases in Bhubaneswar crossed 1,000 on Saturday as 353 more people tested positive for the virus.
Odisha capital has emerged as COVID hot spot with the city accounting for 97.78% of total 361 new cases in Khurda district on the day. Besides, the city figure is 33.14% of the state’s 1,065 fresh cases.
According to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Patia continued to top the list of infected persons with 53 new cases. It was followed by 28 in Khandagiri, 20 each in Chandrasekharpur and Nayapalli. Check details of the cases here:
While all the new cases are from local contacts, 226 patients have recovered from COVID during the last 24 hours, the BMC stated. The active cases have gone up to 1107 with the day’s addition.
The total COVID cases now stand at 1,60,166 while 1,57,845 patients have recovered.
Meanwhile, the BMC has issued an order to enforce ‘no mask no entry’, ‘no mask no goods’ and ‘no mask no fuel’ rule in the areas under its jurisdiction to check the spread of COVID.
