Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 300 on Thursday as 271 more people, including 60 in the age group of 0-18 years, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported 387 new cases on Wednesday, 296 on Tuesday, 276 on Monday and 318 on Sunday.
According to the I & PR department, 158 of the new infections are from quarantine and 113 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest 112 cases followed by 23 in Cuttack and 20 in Sambalpur. Nine districts saw nil cases.

Besides, 25 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 62,010 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.43 per cent. The TPR was 0.60 per cent on Wednesday, 0.55 per cent on Tuesday and 0.46 per cent on Monday.
While the COVID tally has touched at 10,44,699, Odisha now has 2,932 active cases.
