Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha remained below 500 for the second consecutive day on Tuesday as 453 more people, including 53 children below 18 years of age, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
The state had seen 407 new infections on Monday, 528 on Sunday, 478 on Saturday, 477 on Friday, and 602 on Thursday.
According to the I & PR department, 265 of the new cases are from quarantine and 188 local contacts. Khurda reported the highest 201 cases followed by Cuttack at 59. Seven districts reported nil cases.

With these cases being detected from 58,223 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.77 per cent. The TPR was 0.62% on Monday, 0.76 % on Sunday, 0.69% on Saturday, 0.72% on Friday, and 0.88% on Thursday.
Odisha now has 4935 active cases while the affected tally had touched 1028819.
