Keonjhar: Eight members of a family have tested positive for COVID-19 in ward no-6 of Swambirajaygovindpur village in Patana block, forcing the Keonjhar district administration to declare the area as a micr-containment zone.
The order was clamped from 6 pm on Thursday and will remain in force till midnight of April 21.
There will be no movement of people in or out of the micro- containment zone, except for medical emergencies and for maintaining the supply of essential goods and services. The supply of essentials and medical requirements will be made through the Patana BDO.
During the containment period, there will be intensive house to house surveillance by the medical teams and the listing of contacts shall be carried out in respect of all persons found positive, along with their tracking, identification, quarantine and follow-up contacts for 14 days.
The collector has directed the Patana BDO to open a control room in his office with a dedicated helpline number for any requirement of essential commodities like grocery and medicine.
