Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to close COVID Care centres in the city from February 28 in view of the decline in the cases.
Closure notices have been issued to Hi-Tech Hospital and KIIMS Hospital functioning as COVID Care centres, the BMC stated.
On the other hand, it has also been decided to reduce the bed capacity of existing COVID hospitals – SUM and Aditya Ashwini, said BMC Deputy Commissioner.
Odisha reported 345 fresh COVID cases on Friday, including 111 individuals below 18 years of age, taking the active caseload to 3,375. The daily test positivity rate (TPR) stands at 0.64% and number of cases in Khurda was recorded at 25.
Meanwhile, Bhubaneswar had registered 35 cases in the 24-hour period till 9 am of February 24, with 52 recoveries during the period.
