Bhubaneswar: The capital city reported 261 new COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours against 206 the previous day.
Of the new cases registered, 74 were from quarantine and 187 were local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
The highest of 16 cases were detected in Patia followed by 13 each cases in Rasulgarh and Nayapalli and 10 in Old Town.
While 223 patients have recovered from the disease, the number of the deceased has gone up to 959 with 13 more fatalities from the virus.
The city now has 2,853 active cases and total positive cases have gone up to 1,02,751, the BMC stated.
