Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID caseload in Odisha dropped below 200 after a week on Monday as 171 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
While 205 infections were detected on Sunday, the state reported 239 infections on Saturday, 242 on Friday, 229 on Thursday, and 226 on Wednesday.
These cases have been reported from 21 districts and 34 among them are in the 0-18 years age group.
According to the I & PR department, 98 of the new cases are from quarantine and 73 local contacts. Khurda saw the highest 76 infections, followed by Sambalpur (13) and Cuttack (10). No new infections have been reported from nine districts.

With these cases being detected from 58,104 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at 0.29 per cent. The TPR was 0.40 per cent on Sunday, 0.41 per cent on Saturday, 0.42 per cent on Friday, 0.39 per cent on Thursday, and 0.37 per cent on Wednesday.
While the COVD-19 tally in the state reached 10,47,174, Odisha now has 2,226 active cases.
