Bhubaneswar: Nearly one lakh children in the 0-18 age group have been infected by COVID-19 in Odisha since the start of the pandemic, according to state Health Department data.
In percentage terms, only 0.68 per cent of children in the state have contracted the virus. The rate of infection is 677 per one lakh children.
Odisha has so far registered 11.55 lakh COVID infections.
During the Delta-driven second wave, 69,000 children in the 0-18 age group were infected, while 21,000 were infected during the first wave.
During the third wave, the state is reporting 344 infections among children on an average every day. The figure was 241 during the second wave, and 62 during the first wave.
