Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded a slight increase in COVID infections on Saturday with 289 positive cases reported in the last 24 hours. The active tally in the state continued to remain below the 2,000 mark at 1,989.
The state reported 262 cases on Friday.
According to the I & PR department, 168 new cases are from quarantine and 121 local contacts. Among them, 54 are in the age group of 0-18 years.

Besides, 13 are from the state pool.
With these cases being detected from 18,287 samples, the Test Positivity Rate (TPR) stood at 1.58 % against 1.55 % the previous day.
The state has confirmed three more deaths due to COVID after the audit process in the last three days, taking the toll in the fourth wave to 38.
The Health Department identified the deceased on Saturday as a 65-year-old woman of Kalahandi district who was also suffering from hypertension.
