Bhubaneswar: After reporting daily cases in excess of 500 for four straight days, Odisha saw a steep jump in infections on Wednesday with 743 samples testing positive in the last 24 hours.
Among the fresh cases, 87 cases are in the 0-18 age group. According to the state I&PR Department, 436 cases are from quarantine and 307 cases from local contacts.
The number of active cases stood at 3,878 as of Wednesday.
The state reported 509 cases on Tuesday, 572 cases on Monday, 576 cases on Sunday and 512 cases on Saturday.

With 18,442 samples tested in the last 24 hours, the TPR stood at 4.02%.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has decided to hold COVID vaccination camps in schools for children in the 12-14 age group.
