Bhubaneswar: As many as 65 more COVID deaths were reported from various districts of Odisha, taking the toll to 5768.
On the other hand, the Health and Family Welfare Department clarified that the toll list gives details of past deaths for which an audit process has been completed and the cause of death has been confirmed as COVID-19.
Of the new deaths reported from 22 districts, 9 are from Khurda (including 3 from Bhubaneswar), 7 from Bargarh, 6 from Sundargarh, 5 each from Sambalpur and Jharsuguda, 3 each from Angul, Balangir, Cuttack, Ganjam, Jajpur and Puri, 2 each from Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada and Gajapati and one each from Balasore, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Nuapada districts.
In terms of the total number of deaths, Khurda district has the highest of 1130 deaths followed by Sundargarh (509), Ganjam (431), Puri (346), Cuttack (325), Bargarh (284), Angul (247), Mayurbhanj (203), Kalahandi (195), Balasore (181), Sambalpur (174), Rayagada (159), Nayagarh (143), Jharsuguda (151), Kendrapada (128), Keonjhar (126), Dhenkanal (117) and Boudh (103).
