COVID Claims Veteran Journalist From Odisha

Rayagada: A veteran journalist from Rayagada district, Sarat Chandra Mangaraj, succumbed to COVID-19 in a private hospital in Bengaluru on Monday night.

Mangaraj had worked as the district correspondent for three vernacular dailies Pragativadi, Samaya and Dhariti.

His family said Mangaraj, a paralytic patient, had undergone a COVID test on May 8 and tested positive.

He was admitted to the hospital in Bengaluru after his health became critical on May 9, He,however, passed away while undergoing treatment there.

As many as 21 journalists from Odisha have died during the second wave of COVID-19 so far.
