New Delhi: India reported 70,421 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to data released by the Union Health Ministry on Monday.
Incidentally, this is the lowest rise in daily cases since March 31.
Among the states, Tamil Nadu reported the highest of 14,016 new cases, followed by Kerala (11,584), Maharashtra (10,442), Karnataka (7,810) and Andhra Pradesh (6,770).
As many as 3,921 patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, taking the total toll to 3,74,305.
In a heartening trend, the country’s daily test positivity rate (TPR) of 4.71% reported on Monday continued to remain below the 5% mark for the 7th consecutive day.
