Ahmedabad: All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Delhi director Dr Randeep Guleria reached Gujarat in a special India Air Force flight on Friday following special orders of Home Minister Amit Shah.
Dr Guleria visited a hospital in Ahmedabad to guide doctors regarding the treatment of COVID-19 patients amid the rising number of infections in Gujarat.
Gujarat has so far reported 7,402 cases with 449 deaths, becoming the second-highest state to be infected with coronavirus after Maharashtra.
According to government sources, the AIIMS chief will also visit SVP Hospital in the city and is expected to meet Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.
