Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Bus Owners’ Association on Saturday urged the state government and the Centre to waive taxes for three months.
In a letter the Association stated that due to the alarming rise in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, more than 250 buses have remained off the road while those still running have sustained heavy losses due to poor turnout of passengers.
Stating that it has become very difficult for the bus owners to maintain their vehicle as well as their staff, the Association has demanded waiver of road tax for April, May and June and extension of loan installment and insurance payment period.
