Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed Damana Haat, a major market place in the city, for flouting COVID-19 guidelines.
The sealing order was issued on Thursday and it will be enforced for 48 hours.
According to sources, a BMC team had visited Damana Haat on Thursday evening and found a huge rush there.
The team also advised all the shopkeepers and buyers at the market to maintain social distancing and follow COVID-19 guidelines.
On Friday, BMC sealed Indradhanu (ID) Market near Nayapalli for 24 hours for violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
In effect, the market will remain closed for three days after the weekend shutdown was imposed in all urban areas of Odisha.
