Bhubaneswar: In a relief to people of Capital City, there was a drop in the number of new COVID infected persons and no casualty in the last 24 hours.
Total 245 people tested positive for the disease during the period compared to 263 on Thursday, according to Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). The figure was 197 on Wednesday, 235 on Tuesday and 211 on Monday.
Of the new cases, 66 are from quarantine and 179 local contacts. Among local contacts, maximum 16 cases have been detected in Nayapalli, followed by 10 from Laxmisagar and 9 each from Jharpada and Patia.
While 181 patients recovered during the period, the number of deceased remained constant at 979 with no death due to the disease in 24 hours.
The city now has 3,292 active cases while the affected tally has touched 10,5,000, the BMC stated.
