Bhubaneswar: Following a spike in COVID-19 cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared Block E of Gymkhana Palm Height Apartments at Kalinganagar as a containment zone.
The apartment is located near SUM Hospital in BMC’s ward no. 23.
According to a BMC notice, people will be restricted from entering or leaving the containment zone to check the spread of COVID-19.
The notice said all those residing within the containment zone shall strictly remain in home.
Also, all shopping establishments as well as government and private institutions located within the restricted zone shall be closed immediately.
The civic body will supply essential items and medicines for those residing within the containment zone.
Notably, Bhubaneswar in Khurda district has been placed under Category B districts owing to high prevalence of COVID-19 cases. On Thursday, Bhubaneswar had reported 341 new COVID cases.
