Puri: A team of healthcare workers including Brahmagiri Tehsildar was allegedly manhandled when they went to Kahalpada village to get eight members of a family — who had tested positive for COVID-19 — admitted to hospital here on Sunday morning.
Health officials, on being intimated about the entire family getting infected with the deadly virus, went to take them to COVID Hospital for treatment, but the family refused to get admitted to hospital.
Anganwadi workers, including the tehsildar, had also tried to convince them and make them aware of the spread of COVID-19 if they don’t visit hospital. Later, the family members misbehaved with them.
A police complaint in this regard has been lodged.
