COVID-Infected Woman Gives Birth In Odisha’s Jharsuguda

Jharsuguda: A woman undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital here gave birth to a baby in the wee hours of Monday. This is the second such instance in the district.

According to sources, the pregnant woman was admitted to the hospital after she tested positive for COVID-19.

When the woman complained of labour pain late on Sunday night, Dr Debendra Naik led a special team and successfully operated the woman around 12.50 am.

The condition of the mother and newborn is stable, the sources said.

The district administration has made special arrangements to look after them.

On August 10, a woman gave birth to a baby at a COVID hospital here.
